Marie Curie Cancer Care is a UK charity dedicated to the care of people with terminal cancer and other illnesses. Over the financial year 2010/11, we reached a total of 31,799 patients

Youthhealthtalk enables young people, their family and friends, and professionals such as doctors and teachers to understand young people's experiences of health, illness and life in general. The website feature real-life accounts of issues such as effect on work and education, social life and relationships, consulting health professionals and treatment.

Our Practice is a Training/Teaching Practice.  We train registrars who wish to specialise in General Practice.  Our registrars are fully qualified and have a great deal of hospital experience.  Registrars attached to our Practice become General Practitioners after completing their training.  When booking an appointment you may be asked if you would consult with our registrar.

 

We are also fortunate to have medical students and doctors from the hospital attached to our Practice for short periods.  If you do not wish to have the student or hospital doctor present during your consultation please inform a memeber of the reception staff.

Dr Abbas Zaidi (m)

MBBS 1999 MRCGP 2005

Dr Abbas Zaidi has been a partner at Castle Street Surgery since 2005.

He is also the chair of the South East Cluster Group of practices supporting development in practice.

He qualified as a doctor in 1998 from St George’s Hospital medical school.

Dr Ruchira Karunadasa (m)

MBBS BSc MRCGP

Dr Ruchira Karunadasa has been a partner at Castle Street Surgery since 2011

He is Clinical Director for Primary Care and is a Board member of the Clinical Commissioning Groups.

He is also Vice Chair of the Premise & Estates Advisory sub group.

He trained at University of London in 2002

Dr Anooj Patel (m)

MBCHB 1998 

Dr Anooj Patel has been a partner at Castle Street Surgery since 2014. Before this he worked at Clapham Road Surgery in Bedfordshire.

Dr Patel is the Prescribing Lead for the Practice with the Clinical Commissioning Group and Nurse mentor.

He trained at Sheffield University Medical School in 1998

Dr Manchula Thiyagarajah (f)

MRCGP 2013



Dr Manchula Thiyagarajah has been a salaried doctor at Castle Street Surgery since June 2017. She has been working locally since 2014.
